What’s the deal with Hot vs. Non-Heated vs. Temperature Controlled?

The hot classes are 90+ degrees F. We use infrared heat panels which do not blow dust/allergens or release any emissions/chemicals/pollutants. Our heat panels help to keep the air clean and clear. Infrared heat panels gently increase your blood circulation, help to rid the body of toxins, and can even help to provide pain relief by soothing muscle and joint stiffness.

Non-heated classes in the SOUL (YOGA) studio are not air conditioned classes. In the yoga studio we simply do not turn on the heat panels. Temperature ranges between 72-75+ degrees generally.

Non-heated classes in the LIFT (BARRE/PILATES) studio are air conditioned/temperature regulated with temperatures ranging from 68-72 degrees generally.

Non-heated classes in the MOON ROOM (YIN-RESTORATIVE YOGA) are air conditioned/temperature regulated with temperatures ranging from 68-72 degrees generally.

What to wear to what class?

Comfortable, body-conscious workout or yoga wear is recommended and no one cares what brand they are! Most students wear tank tops or t-shirts and either leggings or fitted shorts that they can easily move and breathe in. Fitted clothing is preferred over loose sweats because they allow our instructors to better see the alignment of your back, hips, and knees, which could help prevent injury. But most importantly we want you to be comfortable!

We recommend doing a “deep squat check” at home before wearing new leggings in public.  Most leggings look totally opaque when standing up straight, but can become sheer when bending over or squatting.

As for footware… yoga, Pilates and barre classes are taken barefooted or with slip resistant socks.  Regular smooth bottomed socks are prohibited to prevent injury.

Please come to class clean and use deodorant. We want everyone to breathe deeply!

How to prepare for a heated-class?

Drink your water BEFORE class! Make sure you wear clothing that is easy to move/breathe and sweat in. We do not recommend taking any of our classes on a full stomach. Please turn off/silence your cell phone and leave cell phones outside of the studio in a cubby so as not to disturb the other students in the class.
