Michelle Murphy
front desk barretender
A native North Carolinian, Michelle R. Murphy, began her career as an elementary classroom teacher of both general and special education in Wilmington, NC. She moved to South Carolina in 2012 to pursue college teaching and research at the University of South Carolina in Columbia – Go Gamecocks!! She then made Florence, SC her home in 2016 where she was a professor of education, with expertise in special education for six years at a local university, preparing both pre- and in-service teachers, aka “Dr. Murphy”.
After 19 years as an educator of learners, with and without disabilities, from early childhood through adulthood – teacher, professor, coach, mentor, trainer, and consultant – Michelle is thrilled to continue her passion as a life-long learner to grow herself and others, while making a positive lasting impact on everyone here at Soulift! In fact, since she began her practice at Soulift, it has reminded her fondly of all the time she spent at the dance studio in her hometown where she took tap, jazz, and ballet/pointe and danced competitively and in Jr./Sr. companies. She has experienced several benefits with Red-Light Therapy at Soulift – which she is always happy to share – as it helped her benefit even more from her practice in Barre, Flow, YINspired, and Yogalates classes. Her hope is that she helps guide everyone at Soulift on their journey to feeling and being their best self too - mind, body, and soul!
